An opportunity has been created for a Senior Environmental Consultant to join a leading Geotechnical and Environmental Services company based in Sydney. The company is owned and managed by its employees with an emphasis on individual development and leadership succession planning. As the business continues to grow with both public and private clients in the infrastructure and development space, the need for an accomplished consultant to take a lead role has been created.

The Senior Environmental Consultant will take control of projects from inception to completion and use their experience to deliver high level reporting and advice to project stakeholders. The scope of these projects will involve site investigations, reporting, remediation planning, remediation support and site verification. Other focus areas include climate adaptation modelling, water modelling and coastal environmental systems. This will predominantly be an office based role with opportunities to get out in the field.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Project Management for a range of environmental investigation projects including schools, hospitals and large scale land developments
  • Reviewing site contamination assessments, soil and groundwater samples
  • Liaising with clients to effectively communicate project progress and outcomes
  • Writing Environmental Reports to accurately inform clients of findings and remedial actions to undertake
  • Decision making and site auditing in line with the CLM act

About You

This role is ideally suited to an accomplished and ambitious Environmental Consultant who is comfortable in making decisions and taking accountability. You will have the ability to write conclusive reports that align with the scope and objective of the investigation.  

To be considered for this role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Environmental Science/Engineering or Similar
  • 5 – 8 years consulting experience, ideally in the local market
  • Demonstrable experience in contaminated land investigations
  • Experience in delivering complex projects that have been audited
  • You must have exceptional communication skills, both spoken (managing multiple stakeholders) and written (complex and detailed report writing) 
  • You will be committed to your continued professional development and will be offered financial and professional support towards your ongoing education
  • Full NSW Driver’s License and provide your own vehicle for which you will be reimbursed
