An exciting opportunity has been created for an Electrical Engineer to join an Australian owned alternative energy provider; focused on owning, operating, and building a large portfolio of distributed energy assets across the country. Working alongside a variety of departments, you will be working on providing engineering assistance in the design, scheduling and planning for new and pre-existing hv & lv electrical distribution networks, solar & battery systems and trigeneration facilities.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
The design and approval of LV/HV electrical distribution networks, electrical control & protection systems, and solar & battery system assets
Responsible for electrical network and systems design risk assessments
Managing the compliance of network and electrical system designs, construction, and operational activities in accordance with industry best practice and to all relevant Australian and International Standards
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, specialist consultants, engineers, and plant operators on the maintenance of electrical assets
Provide technical expertise for routine and non-routine O&M activities in relation to electrical networks and integrity & asset maintenance programmes
Project management of non-routine works on assets
Preparation and evaluation of technical documentation, specifications, procedures, and operational proposals
This role would be well suited to someone who is outcome oriented, being able to evolve and adapt within a collaborative workplace environment.
Minimum 5 years professional experience in the electrical engineering industry with demonstrated planning and design skills pertaining to high voltage and low voltage electrical networks
Ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders in the delivery of electricity safety & compliance
Demonstrated contract administration experience (desirable)
Proven estimating and engineering design capability
Understanding of the technical and economic regulation governing electrical network
